Pro-tools is quite a demanding application and configuring the perfect system for your usage level can be difficult. We've created the below three tiers of system to cover all users needs. Each system is configured about the 'recommended specification' from AVID to ensure seamless operation. Prefer to configure a full system yourself? You can find our full configuration guide for AVID pro-tools here.
The 'Home-Studio' workstation build is suitable for mid-sized, and some large, projects, offering more cores but still a high clock-speed, this system is capable of handling many large templates of concurrent instruments and processing multiple inputs.
Our 'Professional-Studio' workstation is designed for users requiring the best of the best. Supplying a massive 18-core Xeon processor with a base 3.00GHz clock-speed and increased RAM count the professional-studio workstation breezes through even the most complex tracks.
Typically multiple times faster than standard SATA SSDs the M.2 NVMe SSDs are suggested for your systems primary drive. Ideally the primary drive should only be used for the operating system, all your applications and plugins with further additional SATA drives/SSDs for projects and backup.
We recommend having three drives for optimum performance:
3.5" to 2.5" converters are automatically added here if SATA SSDs are selected.
Graphics cards with DMS-59 connections will automatically add a 'DMS-59 to VGA Splitter' to your configuration (you can change this to a DVI splitter below if required). You can then plug in a VGA/DVI cable into the splitter.
Refer to the graphics card and/or monitor descriptions to see supported cable type.
Every workstation has an integrated 1GbE RJ-45 port for connection with your router/network, additional >2GbE options are available, but not required, for professionals on high-speed networks that need an ultra-fast connection. Wi-Fi options are available for individuals who cannot plug directly into their routers.
No external cables (Power cables/Monitor cables) are included by standard. If you require any additional cables you can find the standard power cable for the system below and additional monitor cables here.
Our monitors are graded cosmetically from A+ to B. View our Grading Guide for more information.
Monitor power cables are automatically added to your configuration as required for your monitor selection.
